Annie’s Favorite Things Vol 8: Everyday Self Care
I’m a big believer that self care doesn’t have to mean a $200 spa day or a 12-step skincare routine. For me, it’s all about the little things that make life feel a little softer, cozier, and less like I’m running on fumes. These are my go-to favorites—the simple, practical bits of comfort I reach for again and again: a massage gun when my muscles hate me, a lotion that saves my hands from feeling like sandpaper, and slipper sandals that make my sore feet feel like they actually got the memo about relaxation.
Sunbeam XL heating pad
Working in a bakery for years (and living with fibromyalgia and celiac) means my body is no stranger to aches. This heating pad is my absolute lifesaver. It heats up fast, covers a wide area, and feels like wrapping yourself in a little cocoon of relief. The long cord and auto shut-off are just the cherry on top (since I fall asleep on it)!
Derma-E Hand Repair Cream
Between endless hand washing and wrestling with dough, my hands are basically begging for mercy. Packed with vitamin E and shea butter, this fragrance-free lotion keeps them from cracking like old parchment—quick to sink in and actually makes them feel human again.
Renpho Massage Gun
Sometimes sore muscles need more than just heat—they need a full-on beatdown (the good kind). This little powerhouse digs deep, works out the knots, and somehow does it without sounding like a lawnmower. It’s portable, rechargeable, and basically the closest I’ll get to having a personal masseuse on call.
KuaiLu Yoga Slipper Sandals
My feet basically beg for these around the house and on vacation. Cushy memory foam, arch support that actually works, and a non-slip sole make every step feel like a mini spa day. Plus, the fun colors mean my toes get a little fashion moment too.
Black Lavender Co Soap
Pink Sugar Plum
This is my little everyday indulgence. It foams up luxuriously, enriched with Aloe Vera and Vitamin E to keep hands soft and hydrated, while the sweet, playful pink sugar plum scent fills the room with a cozy, dessert-like vibe. This was a wonderful farmer’s market find!
